About Thatch

At Thatch we're building tools that make it remarkably easy for Travel Creatives to curate, share and sell travel guides and planning services.

The company has raised $5.2M from some of Silicon Valley's best early-stage investors including Tim Connors at Pivot North (first investor in 6 $1B+ companies) Wave Capital (early operators at Airbnb that lead data science and corp dev) Freestyle.vc ( early investors in Patreon, Airtable) and Marc Randolph (co-founder of Netflix).

The Role

As a founding engineer, you will be responsible for scoping technical requirements and delivering impactful features by working closely with the founders as well as the product design team. Unlike most engineering roles, you will have a lot more freedom to make decisions and do what delivers the greatest impact to the business. This role means you will be wearing multiple hats such as (QA, Product, Backend, Frontend, Infrastructure).

If you are looking for a more structured role, where you work with product managers and hand things off to QA then this is not the role for you. If you want to be a part of a very fast moving startup, learn a lot, have a lot more freedom to make your own decisions, and work on challenging problems, then this is for you!

Responsibilities

Ideal Candidate

We're looking for a capable, experienced generalist engineer. The most important skills you’ll need to have are the ability to make sound product decisions and ship high-quality products fast. Our small team is heavily product oriented and we look for engineers with great product instincts who can also own whole projects from start to finish.
